This idea evolved into redesigning parts of the ground floor, including the kitchen and utility room, and adding a garden room that seamlessly connects to the kitchen and steps down into the garden.

A modern design approach was embraced, featuring expansive sliding glass panels with flush thresholds. This design choice blurs the line between indoor and outdoor spaces, allowing the captivating landscape to merge with the interior. The gentle curve of a connecting wall enhances the transition between the existing house and the extension, drawing inspiration from the vertical lines of trees mirrored in the nearby lake.

Sustainability played a pivotal role, evident in the use of eco-friendly materials like cedar cladding and a wild meadow roof. These elements meld the extension into the landscaped garden, softening the contrast with the traditional red brick architecture. The resulting space is a seamless blend of indoor and outdoor, offering a remarkable connection with nature.
